Shinji joined UntroD Capital Japan, which manages the Real Tech Fund, as an Advisor in 2025, and was appointed Head of Investment in 2026.

Prior to joining the firm, he began his career at Nippon Life Insurance Company before engaging in strategy consulting and business development at the Boston Consulting Group and Dream Incubator. He later joined the Innovation Network Corporation of Japan (now INCJ, Ltd.), where he served as Managing Director of the Venture Growth Investment Group, leading investments in numerous pioneering companies—including ASTROSCALE, WHILL, SmartDrive, Elephantech, and SCIVAX—and contributing to their growth as an outside director. He subsequently served as Executive Officer and Co-Head of the group, driving a wide range of investment, support, and exit activities across approximately 70 startups.
