Global Fund 2 Debuts Its First Investment in Accelerated Materials: Next-gen Nanomaterial Synthesis Platform

UntroD Capital Asia’s (UntroD) Global Fund 2 has made its inaugural investment in Accelerated Materials (AM), a next-generation material synthesis platform operating in both Singapore and the UK. AM integrates patented high-performance reactors, enhanced automation software, and cross-disciplinary expert services to advance materials discovery and manufacturing.
UntroD leads AM’s seed round, joined by Singapore government-backed Deep Tech Investor, SGInnovate and Cambridge Enterprise. This funding will support further development of AM’s hardware and software platforms while expanding the company’s reach across global markets. This round construction presents a successful example of cross-border collaboration in deep tech innovation. This investment round highlights the impact of cross-border partnerships to drive advancement in deep tech innovation.
Founded by flow chemistry expert Dr. Nicholas Jose, AM aims to transform the nanomaterial sector by significantly shortening the R&D and scale-up cycles—unlocking faster market opportunities across diverse industries from electronics to industrial coatings.

Challenges in Nanomaterial Development
Despite surging global demand for advanced nanoparticles, the journey from breakthrough research to commercial production remains prohibitively difficult. Laboratories often struggle to iterate on new nanoparticle formulations due to the high complexity and cost of R&D. Even when promising results emerge, replicating precise size, morphology, and performance at scale presents another layer of difficulty. The transition from the lab to full-scale manufacturing often drives capital and operational expenditures beyond economic limits, causing many innovative nanomaterial discoveries to stall before they can reach the market.
Accelerated Materials’ Integrated Approach
AM addresses these challenges by offering an all-in-one solution that combines high-performance reactors, proprietary reaction design software, and specialized technical services. Through its patented hardware and automated flow chemistry workflows, AM dramatically shortens the R&D and scale-up process, enabling stakeholders to develop and commercialize new nanoparticle formulations with unprecedented speed. By reducing both CapEx and operating costs by up to 90%, the company removes significant financial barriers to large-scale manufacturing, thus positioning itself at the forefront of a multi-billion-dollar greenfield market.
AM scaled-up this platform to the tonne scale with the support from the Singapore National Research Foundation’s Central Gap Fund and the Cambridge Centre for Advanced Research and Education in Singapore (CARES), in collaboration with NTUitive Pte. Ltd., Nanyang Technological University’s innovation and enterprise company.
